Breaking All the Rules

Val Studer

headshotA native of Chicago, Val now lives in McKinney, Texas where she lives with her husband, son and two dogs. An accomplished graphic designer, Val’s true passion is in mixed media because it allows her to indulge in many different mediums. She loves to use inks and paint and add layers and textures with papers, mediums and unexpected found objects on wood, paper and other interesting surfaces. And true to her graphic design roots, you will likely find words or typography worked in! As each piece evolves it takes on it’s own personality and no two pieces are ever the same, keeping her art fresh and surprising. For Val, art is life…and sharing her creative spirit with others gives her the most joy!
